Hoffman Scholars begin a year of exploration and engagement

The second year of the Hoffman Honors Scholars program (HHS) is in full swing. This fall, University of Cincinnati faculty and staff welcomed 22 new students as the second cohort of the Hoffman Honors Scholars program (HHS). Students from UC’s College of Arts and Sciences, College-Conservatory of Music and the Carl H. Lindner College of Business are provided tuition, room and board and a plethora of community tools and skill-training.

University Honors Program connects students to original research

Nikita Minhas, a second-year student at the University of Cincinnati, did not expect that her time as a Health Sciences major and Chemistry minor would include research on the heyday of science-fiction pulp magazines. But when one of the University Honors Program’s signature research opportunities, UHP Discover, matched her with Dr. Gary Weissman’s ongoing project on the intertwined histories of science fiction and World War II, Minhas embarked on a summer of archival investigation.

This year marks the second incoming cohort for the Hoffman Honors Scholars (HHS), which offers exceptional students in the College of Arts & Sciences, the College-Conservatory of Music, and the Lindner College of Business tuition, room, and board to UC along with numerous opportunities for leadership, service, and global engagement.

UC engineer named Zonta Amelia Earhart Fellow

August 26, 2025

Lynn Pickering was drawn to the University of Cincinnati's College of Engineering and Applied Science for its top-ranked cooperative education program. Her work in artificial intelligence has taken her around the world. Earning both her bachelor's and doctorate in aerospace engineering from UC, Pickering received the prestigious Zonta Amelia Earhart Fellowship to support her research in her final year.

UC alum named Fulbright Scholar, will teach in Taiwan

August 6, 2025

Recent University of Cincinnati graduate Perry Li is a 2025 Fulbright U.S. Student Program recipient. He is in Taitung, Taiwan, where he’ll focus on teaching English and cultural exchange through music during this school year.
