WCPO: Cincinnati City Council candidates find a packed field
It will be hard for candidates not to get lost in record breaking crowd, says UC expert
Forty-three people have submitted their packets to run for nine opened seats on Cincinnati City Council.
While some may not qualify for certification to run, it will still be hard to stand out in a meaningful way before the Nov. 2021 election.
“I really do believe this is one of the toughest votes for any American to cast,” says David Niven, associate professor in UC’s Department of Political Science.
Niven teaches American politics at UC and conducts research on campaigns, political communication and death penalty policy.
