‘CCM Speaks’ seeks to illuminate, celebrate alumni success
The University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music is excited to introduce a new event this spring called CCM Speaks. This engaging initiative will showcase accomplished alumni from various degree programs who will share brief and impactful stories about specific pivotal moments in their career journey. Held on campus, in the Cohen Family Studio Theater on the evening of April 19, this intimate gathering will celebrate alumni success while highlighting contemporary issues within the creative fields.
“As leaders in the media and performing arts industries, our alumni break new ground daily” said Interim Dean Jonathan Kregor in explaining the program’s vision. “CCM Speaks not only offers a perfect platform to spotlight their remarkable achievements but also provides an opportunity to share their expertise with the CCM community.”
In addition to the on-campus event, each talk will be recorded and released over the summer on CCM’s YouTube channel, reaching alumni and other audiences worldwide.
To determine the featured speakers, alumni from all CCM degree programs and majors will be invited to submit proposals pitching their specific stories. Each proposal will be reviewed with just four selected for the inaugural event. Focus will be placed on succinct stories where alumni describe specific projects that broke new ground. Additionally, the talks will be curated to reflect the broad diversity of careers possible through a CCM education.
“We know our alumni are doing incredible things, including in fields with less visibility like media production, lighting design or music education,” explained CCM Alumni Program Director Ellen Stedtefeld. “By making CCM Speaks a proposal process open to all alumni, we hope to uncover some previously untold alumni success stories.”
Alumni interested in learning more and submitting a proposal can visit the CCM alumni website.
CCM Speaks will be held at CCM in Cohen Family Studio Theater on Friday, April 19 at 7 p.m. Registration to attend the event will open in March.
CCM's dynamic and influential alumni network includes over 13,600 artists, teachers, entrepreneurs, researchers, leaders and professionals around the world. Read the latest CCM alumni news stories.
