Programs Abroad Expo Offers Cash Prizes, Food
Over 30 booths representing programs in more than 45 countries will be featured in the University of Cincinnatis first Programs Abroad Expo. The expo, sponsored by UCs Institute for Global Studies and Affairs, will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 10, on the third floor of University Pavilion.
UC students will have the chance to learn about UC programs offering overseas study as well as programs offered by other universities and exchange organizations. Door prizes, including five $100 Bearcat Cash Card awards, will be given away in random drawings, as well as travel bags, mugs, water bottles, a $50 gift certificate from STA Travel and Lonely Planet travel guides. There will also be refreshments and snacks.
This will be a chance for UC students to have face-to-face interaction with a variety of representatives involved in for-credit and work-related study abroad programs. This will be a chance to get an insiders view, says Karen Ramos, UC Education Abroad Program Manager and expo organizer.
In addition to booths, there will be two short workshop sessions:

11:30 a.m.: Room 445, University Pavilion, will discuss the International Coop Program, which provides intensive language and cultural training prior to a six-month work assignment overseas.
- 12:30 p.m.: Room 445, University Pavilion, will discuss Fulbright opportunities for graduate students.
UC faculty and administrators will be available to discuss programs in Queretaro, Mexico, Nagoya, Japan, College of Business international programs, the International Co-op Program, urban planning programs, German studies Berlin program, the annual international arts tour, Shoulder to Shoulder medical and nursing team, Raymond Walters Colleges United Kingdom and Germany programs and business programs in Japan.
