Mom of 3 travels from Columbus to UC for proton therapy

Meagan Barrick, 32, never thought that the breast implants she got in 2012 would later save her life. After she decided to have them removed in 2017, she experienced a number of complications which lead to the discovery of a rare tumor. Her cancer physicians at the Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center—Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute—otherwise known as “the James”—put her on standard protocol, which involved sending her for proton radiotherapy at the Cincinnati Children’s/UC Health Proton Therapy Center in Liberty Township.
