New UC intranet name selected for Nov. 1 launch
Three people selected for raffle prizes from nearly 200 submissions.
Nearly 200 UC faculty and staff from all areas of the university participated in a naming contest for UC’s Intranet. The winner of the naming contest is Amber Kuftic, program coordinator at UC Blue Ash who submitted “Bearcats Landing”.
Phase One of Bearcats Landing is scheduled to launch Nov. 1, 2019. During this inaugural phase, users can view the Bearcat Landing home page, Human Resources’ Annual Enrollment information, as well as IT@UC, Faculty Enrichment Center and Staff Success Center sites. UC faculty and staff can also easily access academic and business tools, find employee resources, and view training, workshops and university events.
“The creation of a university Intranet will help increase transparency, support strategic objectives and provide a platform for university-wide internal communication,” says Kristi Nelson, executive vice president for academic affairs and provost.
During the transition, some information will still be linked to UC’s public website, uc.edu. As additional sites are built and populated throughout 2019 and 2020, users will see more and more information migrated from UC’s public website to Bearcats Landing. (For more information about the project and timeline, please visit the UC Intranet Project webpage.)
“This online gateway will create a digital workspace, bringing needed tools and resources together in one place increasing productivity and engagement,” added Bob Ambach, senior vice president for administration and finance.
Participants in the naming contest were also entered in a raffle. Congratulations to the following raffle winners:
1. Alyssa Wallen, program manager, A&S Communication (winner of one month free parking)
2. Hector Medina, adjunct instructor, CECH Information Technology (winner of a pair of wireless headphones)
3. Kathy Fryman, program manager, Enrollment Management, Registrar (winner of a UC branded fleece blanket)
NOTE: Winners will be contacted via email with instructions on how to collect their prizes.
Look for another communication announcing and celebrating the official opening of Bearcats Landing on Fri., Nov. 1.
