President Neville Pinto’s fall 2019 biannual report profiles UC’s newest incoming class as well as rankings, records and new spaces
The fall 2019 issue of NEXT: The President’s Report on the University of Cincinnati highlights our newest incoming class and the offerings and new spaces they will find on campus.
The fall 2019 incoming first-year class was the largest in university history, at nearly 8,000 students strong. These new students are part of a total enrollment of 46,388, a figure that marks UC’s seventh straight year of record and rising enrollment.
The first-year class boasts 32 National Merit/Achievement finalists, and the first-year baccalaureate profile stands at a strong 26.01 average ACT score, 1232 average SAT score and average high school grade point average of 3.71. Nearly 20% (18.6%) of the first-year class are first-generation college students, and more than 20% (22.7%) are students of color.
At UC, these students will find ranked programs, including UC’s co-op and internship program, which is ranked No. 1 among all U.S. public institutions and No. 3 among all institutions for co-ops and internships.
Also featured in the president’s new edition of Next are the new homes for the Carl H. Lindner College of Business, College of Allied Health Sciences and the Gardner Neuroscience Institute, the 1819 Innovation Hub and the Digital Futures building now under construction.
