Channel 5 covers UC breast conference focusing on innovation

During the month of October, UC and UC Health worked to raise awareness of breast cancer prevention and treatment, culminating in an annual breast cancer conference for the community.

Health officials said when it comes to breast cancer, innovations are around every corner, but, said scientists still have a long way to go.

"Every woman is at risk to get breast cancer. It happens to one in six or even one in eight of us. It is an equal opportunity disease," said Dr. Elyse Lower, professor of medicine at UC and director of the UC Cancer Institute's Breast Cancer Center.
