Cincinnati Enquirer: Star Wars toy designer, UC alum Mark Boudreaux, retires
The DAAP grad designed every toy version of the Millennium Falcon for four decades
Longtime Hasbro toy designer and University of Cincinnati alumnus Mark Boudreaux has retired, multiple news outlets report. A 1978 graduate of UC's College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning, Boudreaux designed many "Star Wars" toys for more than 40 years, including every iteration of the Millennium Falcon.

Formerly a senior principal designer at Hasbro, Boudreaux began crafting "Star Wars" merchandise as a 21-year-old UC industrial design student when he landed a co-op job at Kenner Products in January 1977, with the original "Star Wars" movie coming out in May of that year. (Kenner was later purchased by Hasbro.)
Since then, Boudreaux helped design Kenner's original Millennium Falcon toy and all five of the Millennium Falcon series and, more recently, he worked with LucasFilm on its new animated "Star Wars" TV series.
Boudreaux's retirement was covered by the Cincinnati Enquirer and numerous toy- and "Star Wars"-related forums.
