UC, Siemens PLM give report on technology center progress
The University of Cincinnati and Siemens PLM hosted a strategy meeting to get an update on progress at the Siemens Simulation Technology Center.
Dora Smith, global academic program director for Siemens PLM software, and Gil Morris, project manager for Siemens Academic partnership program, reviewed the academic modules developed by the Simulation Technology Center members.
UC College of Engineering and Applied Science professor Jay Kim convened the meeting in which the academic modules developed for the undergraduate courses at UC using Siemens PLM software were presented to the guests.
Jagannath Rao, head of data driven services, Siemens digital factory also gave an introductory presentation about MindSphere, a cloud based open IOT operating system from Siemens that connects products, plants, systems and machines to harness the wealth of data generated by IOT with advanced analytics. Integrating MindSphere into UC CEAS academic courses was also discussed.
