A native of Cleveland, Lazzaro grew up in regional theatre and came to Cincinnati to enroll in CCM’s Acting program. “There I acted in plays, built sets, made costumes and did make-up,” Lazzaro told VoyageATL. “Once I graduated, I moved out to Los Angeles to find my way into film making.”
He took a special effects class from a Hollywood make-up master and then got an internship at a special FX lab. Since then, his work has been featured in over 50 films and television series, including Roots, Quarry, 21 and 22 Jumpstreet, Jurassic World and Green Lantern. He has also worked on Brockmire, The Outsider and Disney+’s upcoming The Falcon and the Winter Soldier mini-series.
Lazzaro was nominated for the “Outstanding Contemporary Make-up (Non-Prosthetic)” Emmy for his work on Ozark. ABC will air the live broadcast of the 72nd Emmy Awards on September 20 at 8 p.m. Learn more on emmys.com.
