About the Symposium
Advances in digitization and machine learning have transformed legal analytics, easing the extraction and interpretation of large legal datasets. Additionally, legaltech upstarts are chipping away at the dominance of traditional legal research providers. More so than in decades, users have their pick of research tools and platforms. This Symposium brings together scholars and practitioners in digital humanities, computational legal analysis, computer science, legaltech and other areas to discuss the trajectory of legal analytics.
The keynote presentation will feature speaker James Grimmelmann, the Tessler Family Professor of Digital and Information Law at Cornell Law School, in conversation with Sarah Lawsky, professor and associate dean of academic programs at Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law.
Panel topics include "Big Data Corporate Research," "Modeling Legal Reasoning" and "Developments in LegalTech." You can view a full list of speakers on the registration page.
About the Corporate Law Center
In 1994, the College of Law received a $1 million gift, in honor of Charles A. Corry (Cincinnati Law, ’59) from the USX Foundation, Inc., to launch the school’s Corporate Law Center and solidify its commitment to preparing students for successful careers in corporate law. Corry served as Chairman and Chief Executive officer of USX Corporation.
Cincinnati Law’s annual Corporate Law Symposium attracts top legal scholars, regulators, practitioners and students to the school, which has, for more than 20 years, excelled in preparing students to work on substantive issues in corporate, securities and business law.
