Cincinnati Law professor elected to prestigious American Law Institute

Solimine, who joined the College of Law in 1987, teaches in the areas of civil procedure, federal courts, conflict of laws, and election law. He is nationally and internationally recognized as one of the leading scholars in the American civil litigation system. His scholarship has focused on, among other things, appellate litigation, empirical studies of various aspects of civil litigation in federal and state courts, and the doctrinal implications of the similarities and differences between the institutional structures of federal and state courts, and the decision making of judges on those courts.

Solimine is the author of five books and over seventy law review articles, book chapters, or book reviews. His work has been cited and discussed by the U.S. Supreme Court, the Supreme Courts of Ohio and Iowa, and other courts, and frequently by scholarly books, casebooks, and law review articles.
