UC Portman Center Event: 'Working Across the Aisle in Cincinnati Politics'
Guest speakers Reggie Harris and Liz Keating
The University of Cincinnati’s Portman Center for Policy Solutions invites the public to attend the discussion “Working Across the Aisle in Cincinnati Politics” on Wednesday, March 27, from 10:10 a.m. to 11:05 a.m., at 2800 Clifton Avenue, Clifton Court Hall, Room 5280.
Guest speakers will be current Cincinnati City Council Member Reggie Harris and former city council member Liz Keating, vice president governmental affairs and advocacy at the Cincinnati Chamber of Commerce.
The Portman Center was established within UC’s School of Public and International Affairs (SPIA) in 2023 and is named for Rob Portman, attorney and former U.S. senator from Ohio, 2011-2023.
A priority at the center is to develop future leaders in the public sphere from across the political spectrum, through a renewed emphasis on civility, open and inclusive dialogue, and bipartisan engagement. Andrew Lewis, an associate professor of political science at SPIA, was recently named as the center’s permanent executive director.
SPIA was created out of the former Department of Political Science, which dates to 1914.
