Spots going fast for free YMCA Diabetes Prevention Program starting May 1

Enroll by April 24 for the 12-month lifestyle program

The next cohort will launch on May 1, and will meet on Wednesdays from 12-1 p.m. in University Hall on the Medical Campus.  Only eight spots remain.

Eligible employees must meet the qualifications below:

  • Enrolled in the UC Anthem medical plan for duration of DPP,
  • At least 18 years old,
  • Have a BMI ≥25, and
  • Prediabetes confirmed via one of three blood tests or previous diagnosis of gestational diabetes within six months of the date the DPP program begins and by May 1.

Additional Features and Privacy:

  • The DPP is being offered as a pilot for up to 100 eligible employees. 
  • No cost ($429 value) for eligible and enrolled participants.
  • FREE individual yearlong YMCA membership ($750 value), and 20 Be Well UC points ($20 value) for completing all 25 sessions.
  • No personal health information will be shared with UC.  Only names and M#s of participants will be shared with UC to confirm eligibility.
