- Students can only access courses after they're published in Canvas. Publishing also allows students to see Canvas Announcements and any messages in Canvas Inbox.
- Students won’t be able to see Canvas courses if they were recently added to the course in Catalyst—this takes 24-to-48 hours for this to process.
Live Streaming is a new Echo360 feature.
Kaltura added the “allow multiple attempts option” when Creating a Kaltura Quiz.

New for 2020-2021
Microsoft Office 365 now allows faculty and staff to call into Teams meetings. Teams audio conferencing supports up-to 250 phone attendees per meeting.Replace this text component with your accordion's content.
Microsoft is gradually rolling new meeting features in Teams. You can turn on the new meeting experience now!
- Calls and meetings pop out into their own window separate from the main Teams window.
- Meeting controls stay put at the top of the meeting screen and out of the way of meeting content (e.g. shared videos).
- Large gallery view in meetings with ten or more attendees lets you see up to 49 video streams at once.
- Together mode lets you feel like you’re in the same shared space when five or more attendees share a video.
- Focus mode allows you to pay close attention to shared content without the distraction of seeing video feeds.
Faculty and staff can now access all Canopy tools—including Canvas, UC’s Learning Management System—by using Bearcats Landing.
A new, more “app like” portal has been created for UC students to access Canopy tools using the Modo Labs platform, which hosts the UC Mobile app. This will provide students greater connectivity with the university’s Bearcats Promise initiatives.

Randi Bates, assistant professor in the UC College of Nursing, focuses on advancing childhood health and wellbeing in her research. This month she was honored with a Crane Excellence in Early Childhood Award from The Ohio State University. Bates is also the recipient of the 2025 Distinguished Nurse Researcher Award from Mount St. Joseph University.
