Get Experience

At the University of Cincinnati, we don't just educate the next generation—we launch them into it.

As the birthplace of cooperative education in 1906, UC didn't just start a tradition; we revolutionized how students blend classroom knowledge with real-world impact. Our co-op program is a proven pathway to paid, professional experiences that build essential skills, expand professional networks, and prepare you for a dynamic global workforce.

What is Co-op?

In short, co-op means paid career experiences. More fully, co-op means paid career experiences that are integrated into the curriculum

UC connects students with university, industry, government, and community partners for these opportunities. While our signature programs in engineering, design, IT, and business require co-op, we're expanding pathways to offer flexible options across the entire university.

Beyond mandatory co-op programs, students can dive into optional co-op tracks, and a world of additional hands-on opportunities, from student research and service-learning to global experiences and healthcare immersions. Thousands of students gain experience each year, empowering you to contribute, earn, and excel from day one.
